Mashahid al-asrar al-qudsiyya
(Contemplation
of the Holy Mysteries)
Composed when Ibn 'Arabi was just 29 years old, it describes 14
visions in the form of dialogues with God.
Al-Tadbirat al-ilahiyya (Divine Government)
This gives a clear overview of the human organism as an “empire”,
and the role of each “ruler” within it.
Kitab al-Isra' (Book of the Night-Journey)
It describes in rhymed prose his mystical ascension, meeting the realities
of the prophets and realising his own reality in all its fullness.
Mawaqi' al-nujum (Settings of the
Stars)
This describes the three degrees of surrender (islam), faith (iman) and
right action (ihsan), according to three levels of realisation.
'Anqa' Mughrib (The Fabulous Gryphon
of the West)
It describes the meaning and spiritual rank of the Mahdi, the Seal of
the Saints and the Muhammadian Reality.
Insha' al-dawa'ir (Description of
the Encompassing Circles)
This describes the fundamentals of his metaphysics and the rank of the
human being in the world, using diagrams and tables.

I was in Murcia when I had a vision of God
in my innermost being and He said to Me:

what you have seen of My Munificence and Bounty to the true believer.
